This close-up of a statue depicting a child laughing, was taken at Audubon Park in New Orleans, LA. I was drew in by the lifelike expression and the lovely patina covering the statue. It is part of a larger work in the park, that is the Gumbel Memorial Fountain.
-------
The Gumbel Memorial Fountain, was installed near the St. Charles Avenue entrance to Audubon Park in 1918. Dedicated to Sophie and Simon Gumbel, the fountain features bronze sculptures by Austrian-born sculptor Isidore Konti.
Audubon Park, bordered by the Mississippi River and St. Charles Avenue, was carved out of the plantations owned by the Foucher and Bor familes in 1871, and initially called Upper City Park. The park is named in honor of artist and naturalist John James Audubon, who began living in New Orleans in 1821. Inside the park, there is a golf course, several lakes, and the 58-acre Audubon Zoo.
I am a Louisiana-based photographer working hard to make a name in the photography world, as someone who creates great images- whether they be thought-provoking or whimsical. This whimsy or eccentricity allows me to be free when shooting, never placing myself in a particular box. If something/someone catches my eye, I try to capture that moment. If an idea hits me I try to put to "film" what my brain imagined. Flickr & Instagram: hacksawgeneduggan Photo·gene·ic Photography & Fine Art photogeneic.com

Somewhat creepy but also wonderfully playful! L

Lol. Yeah I can see that. If you see the full piece he's riding a turtle. Don't know if this makes it more or less creepy
