The so-called Texas Woofus fountain in the Fair Park recreational complex in Dallas, TX.
"According to sculptor Lawrence Tenney Stevens, the Texas Woofus is a composite figure with Texas long-horns, a sheep’s head, a stallion’s neck with mane, a hog’s body, the dulap of a sheep, turkey tail feathers, wings, and a highly decorated strip of a blanket."
The original Texas Woofus was created in 1936 for the Texas Centennial, but a short while after it simply disappeared. A special fundraising dinner was held to replace the fountain and in 2002 it re-appeared outside the Swine building at Fair Park.
I am a Louisiana-based photographer working hard to make a name in the photography world, as someone who creates great images- whether they be thought-provoking or whimsical. This whimsy or eccentricity allows me to be free when shooting, never placing myself in a particular box. If something/someone catches my eye, I try to capture that moment.
